    Mr. Keller,
My name is Howard Bruce Thurmond and my father, Melville, was born and raised in Nelson County and, later, Lynchburg. My sister recently put together albums for the three siblings in our family of photos and documents. One of them was the story of Great great grandfather Wyatt’s desk. It was in Great Uncle Ned’s house the night of the Flood ( in Nelson County parlance “Fluuuuud) and was water soaked. Sometime after Ned’s death, Wyatt’s grandson, Harry Lee, acquired the desk and left it to a museum in the Amherst area. I believe that was about 2000 or so. I have some of Aunt Noland’s geanology going back to the early 1800’s that was distributed amongst Dad’s generation. If you are at all interested, please contact me.

    1. Always great to find a cousin. My mother worked with Noland and Sarah on the Bowling Genealogy for many years and I assume that I have all the relevant records. I even have there study on the Bowlings of Orange County who I think they hoped at the time would solve the mystery of where William came from but unfortunately they never proved it and now DNA has confirmed it. I do have a photo of Winston Blair Bowling who might need confirmation if you could send me your email address. I would also like to add photos of your father’s generation and beyond to my collection and Findagrave if you could send them to me at andykeller_2000@yahoo.com

  2. I can not remember if I ever received a response to my last correspondence.
